A voltage drop (VD) occurs when the voltage at the end of a cable is lower than the starting voltage. Wires of any length or size will have some resistance, and current flowing through this DC resistance will cause a voltage drop. As the length of the cable increases, its resistance and reactance increase proportionally. Therefore, VD is a particular problem for long cable laying, such as in larger buildings or in larger properties (such as farms) , where the conductor size is correctly determined in any single-phase line-to-line circuit, this can be measured with a pressure drop calculator. The cable carrying the current always has an inherent resistance or impedance to the current. VD is the voltage loss in whole or part of the circuit due to the cable “Impedance”(in volts) . Too Much VD in cable cross-sectional area may lead to flashing lights or weak combustion, heater heating bad, motor operating temperature higher than normal and burn out. This causes the load to work harder and the voltage to push the current lower. How to solve the DC power supply voltage drop? To reduce the VD in your circuit, you need to increase the wire size (cross-section) -- this is done to reduce the total resistance of the cable length. Of course, larger copper or aluminum cable sizes add to the cost, so it’s important to calculate the VD and find the optimal voltage line size, which will bring the VD down to a safe level while maintaining cost effectiveness.
