1. cheapo 便宜货；小气鬼

eg. Brian is a real cheapo. He won’t even spend the money to buy his mother a birthday present. 布莱恩真是个小气鬼。他就连给他老妈买生日礼物的钱都舍不得花。

2. cheapie 便宜货；廉价物品

eg. It’s a cheapie. I spent only a couple of bucks on it. 这个很便宜。我几块钱买的。

3. chow down 吃饭；

eg. Let’s chow down. I’m so hungry. 吃饭吧。我饿死了。

4. clam up

原意：蚌壳闭合直来

俚：住口，不说话

eg. When Vinnie entered the room, Mary clammed up. 维尼进入房间后，玛丽就闭嘴了。

5. chill out 缓和情绪，冷静下来

eg. Chill out. Things are not as bad as they seem. 冷静一点。事情也不是看起来那么糟。

6. out in left field 离谱；精神失常，疯了

eg. He’s out in left field. Nobody ever understands what he is talking about. 他肯定是疯了。没人明白他到底在说些什么。

7. out of it 精神恍惚，心不在焉

eg. Sara’s always out of it; she has no idea of what goes on in the world today. 萨拉总是迷迷糊糊的，当今天下发生了什么事她完全不知道。

8. out of luck 运气不好

eg. You’re out of luck. The last bus left half an hour ago. 你运气不好。末班车半小时前就开走了。

9. out of this world （某物）只应天上有；太棒了，好极了

eg. This food is out of this world. I’ll have to get your recipe. 这个好吃极了！我一定得跟你讨烹饪秘诀。

10. out of whack 不正常；紊乱；坏了

eg. This phone is out of whack. You can’t dial out. 这个电话坏了，拨不出去。

3. off the top of one's head 不假思索地；马上

4. life in the fast lane 刺激/愉快的生活

eg. Jane like to live life in the fast lane. 简喜欢过刺激兴奋的生活。

5. bow out 不干了，退出

eg. Mr. Black often quarreled with his partners, so he finally bowed out of the company. 布莱克先生经常和合伙人吵架，因此他终于退出了公司。

6. bend over backwards 不遗余力；拼命

eg. Sue will bend over backwards to help her friends. 苏可以为朋友两胁插刀。

7. all ears 全神贯注；洗耳恭听

eg. Whenever you tell Johnny some gossip, he's all ears. 每次跟强尼讲八卦，他总是听得特别认真。

8. get lost 滚开；走开

eg. A stray cat was lurking outside the fish market and the ower yelled at it," Get lost!" 一只流浪猫在鱼档前面探头探脑，摊主对它大叫：“滚开！”

9. pump up 热切期望

eg. Everybody on campus is pumped up about Saturday's big game. The winning team will get the national title. 校园里所有人都热切期望着星期六的大赛，赢的队伍将成为全国冠军。

10. put someone out 给某人添麻烦

eg. Please don't go to so much trouble. I don't want to put you out. 别费心了，我不想给你添麻烦。
