eg. I don’t think anybody really gets over his first love. 我认为没有人能够真正忘掉初恋。
3. gross someone out 让某人觉得恶心
eg. Mike grossed Sue out when he waved a snake in front of her face. 麦克在苏前面摇晃着一条蛇,真把她给恶心死了。
4. hang out 溜达;闲逛
eg. In her free time, Kathy likes to hang out at the mall with her friends. 凯西有空时会和朋友到商场溜达。
5. have a ball 狂欢;痛快地玩
eg. We intend to have a ball at the amusement park today. 我们打算今天到游乐场玩个痛快
6. scatterbrain 糊涂虫;大迷糊
eg. What a scatterbrain! She forgot to plug in the coffee maker. 真是个糊涂虫!他忘了给咖啡壶插电。
7. screw up 弄错;弄糟
eg. The hotel screwed up our reservations so we didn’t have a room for the night. 旅社把我们预定的房间弄错了,因此晚上没有地方可住。
8. be spaced out 魂不守舍;(因服用药物导致)迷幻的,飘飘然的
eg. He didn’t hear what you said. He’s spaced out. 他没听到你说的话,他晕乎乎的。
9. up front 预先
eg. In order to hold your reservation, I’ll need a 10% down payment up front. 为了保留你预定的东西,我要先收10%的定金。
10. wimp 软骨头,无能的人
eg.Harold is a real wimp. He lets everybody take advantage of him. 哈罗德真没用,每个人都可以占他便宜。

Day 62:
1. wet one's whistle 解渴
eg. I drank some ice water to wet my whistle. 我喝了一些冰水解渴。
2. on the tip of one's tongue 话到舌尖;差一点点就能想起来
eg. I know his name, but it is just on the tip of my tongue. 我知道他的名子,不过就是一时想不起来。
3. give one the cold shoulder 对某人冷淡
eg. Don't give me the cold shoulder. I don't mean to make you angry. 别冷漠我,我不是有意让你生气的。
4. four-letter word 粗话;低俗的字眼
eg. Sam's vocabulary is full of four-letter words. Mom doesn't allow me to hang out with him. 山姆爱说脏话。妈妈不准我跟他混在一起。
5. have a soft spot for 偏爱
eg. Girls have a soft spot for a man with a sad look. 女孩子很容易为表情忧伤的男人所打动。
6. break down 发生故障
eg. Parts should be replacecd when products break down or malfunction. 产品损坏或发生故障时需更换部件。
7. let someone in on something 允许某人分享某物
eg. I swear, those guys didn't let me in on any plans. 我发誓他们的计划都没有告诉我。
8. put someone on 欺骗某人
eg. Don't put me on ─tell me the truth. 别捉弄我了!告诉我实话。
9. in seventh heaven 十分高兴;欢天喜地
eg. Our boss is in seventh heaven this week. 我们老板本周心情非常好。
10. wear out one's welcome 客人因逗留太久而惹得主人不高兴
eg. I'd like to stay, but I'd rather not wear out my welcome. 我本想多呆一阵子,但还是不要为好,免得惹人讨厌。

Day 64:
1. joking aside 说正经的;言归正传
eg. Joking aside, although the conditions were not very comfortable, we had a wonderful time. 说真的,虽然条件不太好,但我们过得非常愉快。
2. have other fish to fry 另有要事要做
eg. I have other fish to fry today. My list of errands is at least two pages long. 我今天还有别的事要做。我待做的差事至少有两页长。
3. put one's finger on something 确切地指出
eg. It's one of those things that is hard to put a finger on right now. 这是很难抓出问题所在的事情之一。
4. worth the candle 合算,划得来(常用于否定或疑问句)
eg. I don't want to walk so far on such a hot day. The game is not worth the candle. 我真不愿意在这么热的天走这么远的路,为了场球赛不值得。
5. paint the lily 画蛇添足
eg. Comment upon this would be to paint the lily. 对此发表评论无异于画蛇添足。
6. stand on one's own two feet 独立自主;自食其力
eg. I hope he learns to stand on his own two feet someday. 我希望有一天他会学着靠自己。
7. beat one's brains out 绞尽脑汁
eg. The author beat his brains out to find some one to publish his novel. 那作者绞尽脑汁地找人来出版他的小说。
8. up to one's ears 深陷于(债务等);热衷于;忙得不可开交
eg. He is up to his ears in trouble at the moment. 此刻他正深陷于麻烦事中。
9. on a shoestring 资金微薄地;小本经营地
eg. He started his business on a shoestring. 他以小资本开始做生意。
10. set one's teeth on edge 使某人不悦/厌烦
eg. The sight of that man eating with his hands set my teeth on edge. 那人用手吃东西的样子让我很不舒服。
